Assistant Product & Color Developer
The Product Engineering team is key to the product creation process, combining expertise with passion to bring product to life. We are a dynamic team with a great work ethic, together with a strong team spirit that makes working at Rapha with the Product Engineer team a unique experience.
This is a unique role supporting both Product Engineering team and the Colour Developer at Rapha. We are seeking an individual who is starting out in their Product Development career and is keen to develop and progress their technical skills across product, colour and trim development to create the finest cycling products in the World.
THE ROLE:
A key role that supports both the Product Engineering and Colour Development team in all phases of the critical path to ensure the business hits key stage dates.
Supporting Mid and Senior members of staff, assisting on a range of products, ensuring products are risk assessed in a timely manner and that Rapha quality and performance standards are met throughout the sampling process.
Working cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Design and Supply Chain teams on a daily basis actively participating in team meetings and attending fit sessions.
Maintain and update product tech packs and BOMs on our PLM system
Measure and review prototype samples and size sets before fitting to ensure they conform to size and construction specifications.
Create measurement specifications, inputting grading and sizing rules.
Orders, arranges and owns the organisation of our seasonal and core pantone references.
Launch lab dips with our relevant suppliers across both Europe and Asia, tracking their status on our PLM system.
Communicate with mills and suppliers, by maintaining the PLM system with dip codes and colour comments for both fabric and trim.
Communicate directly with factories via PLM system sending prototype fit, measurement, CAD updates and construction comments when needed
Owns the organisation and filing of the lab dip and colour library ensuring that this is neat, up to date and well presented.
General admin support such as: posting relevant swatches and references to suppliers via DHL, send and track samples to wear testers and suppliers, photographing samples, preparing meeting rooms when needed.
Have an awareness of competitor’s product and take part in seasonal comp shopping when needed
THE CANDIDATE:
Ideal for either a recent university graduate or equivalent work experience, such as first or second job within the fashion or sportswear industry.
Has a passion for product, colour, fabric, and trim with a eagerness to learn and develop a varied skill set
Highly organised, adaptive and inquisitive personality
Strong communication skills able to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. The desire to ‘ride for each other’ and participate in team and independent tasks with a positive attitude.
Excellent time management with the ability to manage workload in a busy, fast paced environment split across two departments
Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and good knowledge of garment construction, manufacturing sewing operations
Proficiency in using a Mac and Adobe suite.
Experience using PLM system desirable but not essential
An appreciation or an interest in cycling and/or active sports, someone who is keen to develop their riding skills and use their passion for sport to improve our product range
