Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager
Role Overview:

The Senior ESG Manager at Rapha, will lead the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, ensuring the business meets its sustainability commitments, including carbon reduction, circularity, and ethical labour practices. They will collaborate with key departments across product design, sourcing, production, and marketing to drive impactful initiatives, support Rapha's sustainability reporting, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental:
- Carbon Reporting: Lead the annual carbon assessment of Rapha’s Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, adhering to the GHG Reporting Standard, and ensure accurate and transparent disclosure.
- Decarbonisation Strategy: Develop and implement Rapha’s decarbonisation strategy in line with Science-Based Targets (SBTi), driving initiatives to reduce emissions across operations and the supply chain.
- Supplier Environmental Program: Work closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to implement environmental impact projects, to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
- Product Design & Circularity: Support the product development team in integrating circular design principles into product lines, providing training and advice. Explore and advance Rapha’s circular business models including repair, resale, rental, and spare parts.
- Material Sourcing: Collaborate with the materials team to set sustainable fibre sourcing standards, referencing Textile Exchange to guide decision-making and sustainable material adoption.
Social:
- Social Labour Policies: Implement and refine social labour policies, working closely with the Sourcing & Production (S&P) team to promote ethical practices and fair labour conditions.
- Auditing: Define audit strategy and frameworks, working with the Head of Sourcing & Production to identify key risks and corrective actions.
Governance:
- Impact Reporting: Oversee the development of Rapha’s annual impact report, accurately communicating the company’s sustainability performance and progress toward ESG goals.
- Legal Reporting & compliance: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and remain up to date with upcoming legal legislation relating to environmental and social topics in key markets such as the UK, EU and US.
- Membership Compliance: Manage compliance and engagement with memberships such as Cascale, Textile Exchange, and the Ethical Trade Initiative, ensuring Rapha meets all regulatory requirements.
- Marketing & Communications: Develop communication guidelines to ensure adherence to green claims legislation, working with the Marketing team to convey Rapha’s sustainability initiatives.
- Event Participation: Contribute to Rapha’s marketing events, engaging customers, industry partners, and stakeholders on sustainability topics to drive awareness and collaboration.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience within an ESG role or with similar experience or skills.
- Analytical with experience of cross functional project management.
- Able to manage internal and external stakeholders, working closely with team members internally to build an understanding of ESG.
- Able to work at a fast pace and prioritise what's important.
- Highly motivated, clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a good understanding of stakeholder management.
